The simple view of Configuration groups is capable of modifying the most important parameters of existing groups making them usable on your own system by supplying the appropriate network addresses, data source names, usernames and other information relevant for the environment. More complex settings requiring a deeper knowledge of the software and defining how the group functions are not available in this view (see the chapter on advanced view to read about these).

Panels Source and Target contain controls with the same names that provide the same functions but belong to either the source or the target databases. Depending on a group's settings some of the input boxes may be inactive while in other cases - e.g. when using a data source not requiring a password - they can be left blank.
Server: address of the database you wish to access (.\KONSYS or LOCALHOST\ION are valid examples in case of SQL Server).
Database: name of the database (e.g. AVRDATA).
Username: username required to access the database (if any).
Password: password required to access the database (if any).
Additional parameter: the contents of this field vary by group. Its purpose is to allow you to supply additional information needed to access and work on different systems in simple view.
Pressing the button Load defaults fills the above fields with parameters needed to access the AVRDATA database on your computer.
Test connection verifies if the above settings are correct and the source or target database is available at the moment.
