AVR Connection Center is a plugin module for the AVReporter application. Its purpose is to allow AVReporter to access and process data from numerous, perhaps drastically different data sources by importing it into the application's own database (AVRDATA) through procedures of data conversion and transfer. Due to the versatility of the ODBC interface and the several supporting features of the software you can uniformly access data managed by most current database systems and file formats.
The software has two main components:
• |
an interface to manage the so-called configuration groups - these describe solutions for specific tasks |
• |
a job scheduler allowing the regular execution of configuration groups |
Configuration groups are settings files with the help of which the plugin can be controlled by selecting and setting up those of its features that are required in order to solve a problem. A group may be, for example, capable of copying the contents of a database to another, differently structured one. They can be managed using two different interfaces:
• |
if you would like to use already existing groups on your own system and can settle for configuration possibilities offered by the simple view you can only modify the most important properties of groups - those related to accessing the source and target databases |
• |
if you plan to do more extensive modifications or to create new configuration groups you have to choose advanced view to make all the settings and options of the software available |
The job scheduler is responsible for the single or periodical background execution of configuration groups, according to the conditions we prescribe. The interface of the scheduler may be different as well depending on whether the currently open configuration group uses the simple or advanced view.
